Deena Alexander’s inspirational Romantic Suspense book, Crime Scene Connection, was enjoyable, if a bit predictable. I’d never read a “Love Inspired Suspense” before, but she definitely did that part well. From the first pages, as Addison Keller wakes and almost immediately starts running from a serial killer, the reader is on pins and needles.
Addison is herself a suspense-thriller writer, but her love of writing has turned into a nightmare when a serial killer begins mimicking her fictional murders, and then sending her email photo proof. In her book, five women are killed. When this story opens there have been two real murders, and then a third. Time is running out. But who can she trust? Not the police. Not her sister. And certainly not her ex-husband!
How about the handsome man who shows up to “rescue” her? Can she believe him? Trust him? Keep from falling in love with him?
The story takes readers on quite a thrilling hunt with the deadly menace growing closer on each page. Gradually the horrific “mental baggage” that Addison has carried for too long begins to leak out. Will the information come soon enough to help her? And will Jace be able to save her mind as well as her body?
This is a fast read, one that is hard to put down. Being an “Inspirational” thriller, means that the romantic part is squeaky clean, and there is no offensive language. (So glad of this!)
